This service is free for you to use. We are paid by our providers when you begin service. For most plans, we also receive a monthly payment from providers for customers who stay in the plan. That means it’s important to us to make sure we offer plans that work well for your household.
Many customers can begin service the same day they sign up for a plan. However, switching providers can take up to five business days.
If you’re switching providers, you have three federal business days in which you can cancel your new service without a fee. If you’re moving, you are not subject to an early termination fee – just provide proof of your move such as a forwarding address.
No worries! If you move, you can take your plan with you if it’s available at your new location. Or, you can cancel your plan without an early termination fee – the choice is yours.
Nope! When you switch providers, everything is handled for you by your new provider with no lapse in service. All you’ll need to do for your former provider is pay your final bill when it arrives.
Highly doubtful. Typically, someone only needs to come to your home if you believe there is an issue with the meter.
We do a soft credit check (which does not impact your credit score) on behalf of our providers to determine whether a deposit is needed. If it is, we will let you know the amount required to start service or give you options where a deposit is not required.
If your power goes out, contact your local utility, whereas the provider that you choose today will handle all your billing.
This depends on how much electricity you use, though the estimated average bill shown on each plan card may give you an idea. We base this number on any usage data you entered, plus Electricity Information Administration (EIA) usage averages for your home profile, to estimate how much you’ll pay. Keep in mind that this is an estimate only, which means your actual bill may vary. Be sure to check each plan’s Electricity Facts Label for more specific pricing breakdowns.
