Juice Energy was an electricity provider in Texas for over 20 years, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Spring, TX. The company offered fixed-rate, time-of-use and green energy plans until March 2025, when AE Texas and Atlantex Power acquired its customers. Although the Juice Energy website remains active, you can no longer enroll in its electricity plans.

Top-rated electricity providers like TriEagle Energy and 4Change Energy offer fixed-rate plans with green energy options, similar to those previously available from Juice Energy. Juice Energy previously offered a time-of-use plan as well, which you can find from various providers. However, we don’t usually recommend these plans at Home Energy Club, due to their unpredictable costs.

If you were transferred to AE Texas and Atlantex Power, you will have no changes to your rates and contract terms, but you may need to set up autopay again. Here, you can compare the electricity plans available from AE Texas and Atlantex Power as of spring 2025:

How To Find Out Which Provider You’ve Been Switched to

If you were a Juice Energy customer in March 2025, you should have received a notification after March 6 specifying whether your account was transferred to AE Texas or Atlantex Power. However, if you cannot find this information, you can find the name of your new provider on your monthly power bills.

Should Juice Energy Customers Expect Plan Changes?

According to the Juice Energy website, all customer accounts were transferred without changes to their energy rates, contract lengths, terms of service, cancellation fees or billing preferences.

However, customers were assigned new account numbers, and plan names were updated to match the options available from AE Texas and Atlantex Power.

  • For example, if you were using the WiredCherry fixed-rate plan under Juice Energy, the equivalent plan names are Smarter Secure under AE Texas and Luminous under Atlantex Power.
  • Similarly, if you were using the ElectricLime green energy plan, the equivalent options are Smarter Green under AE Texas and Luminous Green under Atlantex Power.

If you were a Juice Energy customer with automatic payments enabled, this feature was not transferred to your new electricity provider and must be configured again. Here are the contact details for both AE Texas and Atlantex Power.
