About Keller
The northward expansion of the Texas Pacific Railroad from Fort Worth resulted in the settlement of Keller in the early 1850s. This town next to Double Springs was originally called Athol, but it received its current name in 1882 after the railroad foreman John C. Keller. Keller attracted many settlers thanks to its proximity to the Trinity River, wooded forests plentiful with game, and abundance of land for farming. Today, the suburban city has a population of around 40,000 and features 11 park sites for residents.
