Customer Reviews

Express Energy Plans

This light company offers a variety of low-cost electricity plans with traditional, as well as renewable energy that helps reduce carbon emissions.

While they don’t offer commercial energy, they provide some of the cheapest residential electricity.

Their plans come with deep discounts on energy rates, often using bill credits, and because they’re fixed-rate plans you can expect predictable monthly bills.

Flash 12 and 24 Plans

The Flash 12 and Flash 24 plans are fixed-rate options with 12 and 24-month terms. These plans lock in low rates for price-protected, predictable bills.

They feature:

  • No base charge
  • A $100 bill credit
  • An ETF of $20/month left in contract
  • Transmission & Distribution Utility (TDU) fees

While these plans are some of the cheapest, note that you’ll get the best rates with bill credits activated by reaching a certain energy usage level.

12 and 36 Plans

For plans they call “simple and straightforward”, they offer Express 12 or 36 plans. These plans feature a flat energy charge without bill credits. These plans include Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) fees and cheap rates.

These plans provide you with a competitive rate while avoiding bill surprises.

They feature:

  • A $9.95/month base charge
  • Utility company fees
  • An ETF of $20/month left in contract

Other Energy Plans

The light company also offers Power Flash plans and Fast Lane plans.

  • The Power Flash plan comes with 12 and 24-month terms and a very low base charge of $4.95 per month. It also offers a $100 bill credit when you use 2000kWh or more, so it’s best for larger homes.
  • The Fast Lane plan offers a $50 bill credit for 1000kWh or more, making it best for a medium sized home. It has no base charge.

Note that all of these plans come with an Early Termination Fee (ETF) of $20 multiplied by the number of months left on your contract.

Express Renewable Energy Plans

If you’re a Texan searching for green energy, Express offers 100% sustainable energy plans with fixed rates and some of the best prices in the Lone Star state. You can get 100% renewable plans for an additional $6.95 a month.

While many clean energy plans offer both solar and wind energy, this light company typically offers renewable energy plans with wind energy.
