Reviews & Ratings

Before picking any electricity provider, we highly recommend checking out their reviews and ratings. It’s best to consider ratings from independent, third-party review sources, like Google and Yelp.

They currently have a fair 2-star rating on Google, with one customer highlighting their competitive rates and local feel. Meanwhile, other customers complained about hidden fees causing bill surprises.

It’s also a good idea to consider their complaint statistics with the Public Utility Commission of Texas, or the PUCT .

Bill Pay

To make a payment, log in to your Heritage Power account on their website. They offer a range of payment options, including debit and credit cards.

Heritage also offers customers the ability to spread their bills out over four flexible payments through their partners at Deferit.

Want to cut down on your energy use and lower your Heritage electricity bill? We’ve got a few easy tips to save some dough:

  • Smart Thermostats: can increase your home’s efficiency
  • LED Lighting: last longer and use less energy than conventional bulbs
  • Washer/Dryer Efficiency: run cycles only when you have a full load
  • Home Insulation: seal gaps and cracks to minimize energy waste

Check out our guide to cutting your bill for more quick tips on improving your home’s energy efficiency .

Switching, Moving, and Cancellation Fees

Choosing the right energy plan for your new Texas residence is essential, given the number of energy providers in the market.

To assist you in making an informed decision, you can consult the Texas Electricity Facts Label (EFL) guide.

The EFL is a state-mandated document designed to help Texans get an apples-to-apples comparison of energy plans and all of their associated costs.

You can use the EFL to compare rates at set usage levels to see which plan might be best for your home and your energy usage needs.

Transferring my energy plan

Moving to another deregulated area in Texas? You can easily transfer your energy plan to your new home. Simply notify Heritage of your new address, and they’ll relocate your electricity plan.

Be sure to notify them at least 30 days before your move to avoid loss of power during your relocation.

How do I cancel my energy plan?

You can easily cancel your electricity plan by contacting Heritage online or over the phone. Keep in mind, if you’re canceling a fixed-rate energy plan before the end of your contract, you’ll likely owe an Early Termination Fee, or ETF.

Check your plan’s EFL to determine its exact cancellation fee.

If you are considering ending your service, you can find discounted rates offered by other reputable electricity providers on Home Energy Club.

Report a Power Outage

In the event of a power outage, contact the Transmission Distribution Utility (TDU or TDSP) responsible for your specific utility area in Texas.

As a Retail Energy Provider, Heritage doesn’t maintain lines or repair outages. They’re also not the power plant that generates electricity.

Learn more about the difference between REPs and TDUs.
