Energy Plans in Texas

Tara Energy offers competitively priced one-year and multi-year fixed-rate residential electricity plans, which allow you to lock in a rate for the length of your contract term to protect against rate spikes. Fixed-rate plans also produce more predictable energy bills.

Energy rates in Texas plans usually vary depending on how many kilowatt-hours (kWh) you use in a given month.

Compared to other energy companies in Texas, Tara’s electricity plans have rates that don’t vary widely across usage levels, which is more consumer-friendly and results in fewer bill surprises.

Outside of the 12, 24, and 36-month fixed-rate plan options, the light company doesn’t always offer monthly plans.

Monthly plans produce less predictable bills, as rates may increase significantly during the hot summer months.

You should always review the Electricity Fact Label (EFL) associated with each plan to ensure that the plan’s average rate meets your expectations based on your home’s monthly usage levels. Check our guide on how to use an EFL.

Green Energy

Tara Energy electric plans include a green energy option sourced from wind energy and solar energy. You can choose to have any Tara Energy plan partially or fully sourced from renewable energy.

Most Texans are surprised to learn just how much CO2 can be produced by their fossil-sourced energy plan.

Choosing a green energy plan in Texas allows you to reduce your carbon emissions to help in the global climate change initiative, without needing to install costly solar panels on your roof.
