100% Renewable Energy Plans

Renewable energy plans are sourced with electricity from utility-scale renewable energy generation facilities in Texas and other states. In Texas, wind and solar power are the dominant sources of renewable “green” energy.

Increased generation of renewable energy will bring about a reduction of CO2 pollution that enters the Earth’s atmosphere every second of every day. Enrolling in a 100% renewable energy plan will help rid the grid of the pollutants causing climate disruption, and “green” plans can cost you less than the fossil-sourced plan you may be currently enrolled in. So why pay more to pollute?

Learn how renewable energy reduces CO2 to combat climate change:

Wind power is generated using wind turbines. Huge propellers are turned by wind, and the blade’s rotor connects to a mechanical shaft which spins a generator, creating electricity. The electricity enters the Texas electricity grid and is transmitted through the utility lines, which are managed by TDUs, and delivered to your residential and business customers.

Solar panels, located at large solar farms in Texas, absorb sunlight with photovoltaic cells and inverters are used to convert the energy to a usable alternating current, which is delivered to the electric grid and then to homes and businesses. Due to the economies of scale realized by utility-scale solar farms, green energy can be produced much more efficiently than with solar rooftop panels (less than 1% of Texas homes use rooftop panels), and green energy from the grid is now competitive with fossil-sourced energy.

Check out low-cost green energy plans now. You’ll find 100% renewable plans from Gexa Energy at Home Energy Club discount rates, as well as solar power plans that don’t require solar panels from Chariot Energy (use their promo code for discounts), Green Mountain Energy, Pulse Power and TriEagle Energy. And there are great wind energy plans.

You should always read a plan’s EFL details to decide if it’s a fit for you, but our system does the tedious math to help you compare estimated costs. Of course, your future bill amounts will depend on your future usage.

You will find a widget on Home Energy Club which fetches your home’s energy usage data from Smart Meter Texas (SMT) and runs calculations of the rate structures of energy plans to help you conveniently estimate the cost of energy plans you are considering, based on your prior 12 months of energy usage as reported by SMT.

In one of the text panels of the widget, you will see an authorization button. By checking the permission box above the fields in which you enter your name and email address, and clicking on the authorization button, you are authorizing Smart Meter Texas to provide us with your location’s energy usage information so that our system can run cost calculations. It’s important to note that errors can occur when developing and running calculations, and the Company does not guarantee that its cost numbers are correct. You should always read the Electricity Facts Label (EFL) for each energy plan you are considering before enrolling, and make an independent decision on whether the plan is an appropriate fit for your home based on your own calculations and all the information disclosed by energy providers in the EFL.
