About Hurst

Hurst is a city in northeastern Tarrant County, on the northeast side of Fort Worth. The town first made its mark in 1903, when the government wanted to connect Fort Worth to Dallas through William Letchworth Hurst’s property. He agreed to the usage if they added a depot named after him. The town was officially named Hurst in 1909. It slowly grew until it was incorporated in 1952 and has continued to grow to its current population of approximately 38,500 residents.
