About Bellaire

The city of Bellaire was first founded in 1908 by William Wright Baldwin, the president of the South End Land Company. As one of the first established places in the area, Bellaire was an exclusive neighborhood in the Harris Country area. During early development of the city, Bellaire became a farming community known for prosperous produce. It became an agriculture trading center for many cities in the surrounding area.

During that time, the area only housed a few hundred residents, eventually spanning to just under 26,000 in that year. For a great period of Bellaire’s history, it was a part of Westmoreland Farms owned by William Marsh Rice. The city obtained its name from the Gulf breeze that passed through the area, although others believe it got its name after the town of Bellaire Ohio, which helped develop the city’s early railroad.

On Home Energy Club, our cost calculator widget helps you to choose an energy plan by performing detailed calculations so you can quickly compare estimated plan costs based on your historic usage data and publicly-available data. Your actual future bill amounts will depend on your future energy usage, which cannot be precisely determined, so the accuracy of plan cost data cannot be guaranteed. You should always read the details of an energy plan’s Electricity Facts Label (EFL) to decide if it’s a fit for your home.
