TrueClassic Plans

Their TrueClassic electric plans feature low energy rates for fixed periods, with term lengths including 4, 6, 12, 24 and 36 months. These price-protected plans can help you avoid bill surprises.

Key features of these plans include:

  • Low fixed rates
  • $0 base charge
  • Transmission & Distribution Utility (TDU) fee
  • Early Termination Fees (ETFs)

Note that the cancellation fees for any APG&E plan will vary depending on term length. While the 4, 6, and 12-month plans all have ETFs of $150, it’s $250 for 24-month plans and $350 for 36-month plans.

Renewable Energy

For Texans who want green energy solutions with fixed rates, APG&E offers their TrueClassic Green. This energy plan features 100% renewable energy with a fixed rate that locks you into low-priced green energy for 36 months.

Like their traditional electricity plans, their green energy is price-protected to help you avoid rate hikes during periods of peak demand. And you get added peace of mind knowing your electricity is sourced from sustainable energy.

Requirements for Signing up

Enrolling in an electric plan from APG&E is simple and offers two easy options. You can either register online via their website or call their customer service.

The company may ask for some form of identification to confirm your ID, and you may be required to pay a deposit.

However, you can qualify for a deposit waiver if you’re aged 65 or older, are medically indigent, are a victim of domestic violence, or you can show a letter of credit from a previous electricity supplier.

APG&E Bill Pay

APG&E makes it simple to pay your monthly electricity bill. Their payment methods include:

  • Pay online at the APG&E MyAccount login.
  • Pay by phone and call 866-714-7339.
  • Pay by mail, sending your check or money order to PO Box 660038 Dallas, TX 75266-0038

Keep your 11-digit APG&E billing account number handy when paying by phone, as you’ll need it to confirm your account. And if you want to go paperless, just sign up for email bills.

Switching, Moving, and Cancellation Fees

Whether you’re switching electricity retailers, relocating, or canceling your plan, it’s crucial to do your research. With numerous energy suppliers in Texas, sifting through the options can seem overwhelming.

Your EFL is the Key

Your Texas Texas Electricity Facts Label (EFL) can help you identify the energy plan that aligns with your electric usage, so you can pick the plan for your home with the lowest monthly cost.

And check out Smart Meter Texas for an exact kWh history of your home’s real energy usage, which you’ll need when reading the EFL. See our Smart Meter Guide to learn more.

Transferring my energy

To guarantee a smooth transition of your APG&E plan to your new location, make sure to update them with your new address details. This step ensures that you experience no disruptions in your energy service during your move.

For best results, inform them about your change of address 30 days before moving, giving the supplier sufficient time to update your records.

How do I cancel my plan?

If you’re thinking about discontinuing your service, be aware that you may be accountable for an Early Termination Fee (ETF).

APG&E has ETFs ranging from $150 to $350, depending on the term length of your electricity contract. To determine the exact fee you may have to pay, review the details of your ongoing plan on their website or on the plan’s EFL.

Note that you may be able to avoid an ETF if you wait to cancel your plan until the final 14 days of your term period.

Reporting a Power Outage

If you experience an APG&E power outage, it’s crucial to contact the Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) in charge of your particular utility region in Texas.
